Nationals GM Mike Rizzo delivered a succinct message to Orioles manager Buck Showalter, GM Dan Duquette and any other folks from Baltimore upset about the rescheduling of the teams May 11 game to this past Thursday night: Quit whining.

When the teams were supposed to play in May, the Orioles were not only healthier, they also had ace Dylan Bundy ready to start. Thursday, neither Adam Jones nor Manny Machado two of Baltimores best hitters were in the lineup, and Alec Asher, not Bundy, was on the bump. ?

Asher gave up four runs in the first inning, one in the second, and the Nationals won, 6-1.

While the Orioles wont say so publicly, the Washington Post reports the team believes the Nationals had an ulterior motive for postponing the game from May 11 they wanted to avoid putting right-hander A.J. Cole on the mound.

Lot of byproducts of the cancellation, an irked Showalter said after the Thursdays game, per The Post.

He added flippantly of the weather, I think its marginally better tonight.

But Rizzo said that Showalter who he used to work with at the Diamondbacks agreed the May 11 game should have been postponed when the decision was made.

It rained all day that day, and the forecast said it would rain until 9:30 or 10, Rizzo said, per The Post. I sat in Bucks office at 6:30, and we talked about it for 20 minutes. He was 100-percent on-board. He didnt say anything about not canceling the game.

Their GM (Dan Duquette) was nowhere to be found for three, four hours. We wanted to play the next (mutual off) day. They refused to play then, so the next (mutual) day was (Thursday). They drove 32 miles to get there. We flew 3,000 (expletive) miles (from Los Angeles), and we beat their (behinds). So quit your whining. Quit whining.
